Celebrating Excellence: Bennett Johnson Honored with WHLA’s 2025 Spirit of Hospitality Award

​The Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association (WHLA) proudly recognizes Bennett Johnson, Lead Cook at Courtyard by Marriott Milwaukee Downtown, as one of the 2025 Spirit of Hospitality Award recipients.

Since joining the property in 2021, Bennett has exemplified dedication, creativity, and dependability in every aspect of his work. Known for maintaining perfect attendance for three years, he consistently supports his team, stays calm under pressure, and elevates the guest experience with beautifully plated dishes and inventive meals for colleagues.

“Bennett’s pride in his work shows in everything he creates, from beautifully plated dishes to inventive family meals for the team,” said Amy Boston, who presented the award on behalf of WHLA during the 2025 WHLA Awards Luncheon on September 11 at Hotel Retlaw in Fond du Lac. “His leadership has helped build a culture of pride, high retention, and associate engagement across the department.”

As a Spirit of Hospitality Award recipient, Bennett was honored in front of industry peers for his creativity, professionalism, and mentorship, making a lasting impact on both guests and colleagues.

The Spirit of Hospitality Awards are part of WHLA’s Stars of the Industry program, which celebrates individuals and properties that define excellence in Wisconsin’s lodging community.
