Celebrating Excellence: Char Paulbicke Honored with WHLA’s 2025 Spirit of Hospitality Award12/15/2025
In just two and a half years in the industry, Char has quickly become a cornerstone of hospitality. She instinctively anticipates guest needs, mentors new staff, and consistently elevates the level of care around her. From delighting young guests with balloon animals to creating memorable experiences for families, Char’s attention to detail and thoughtful gestures leave lasting impressions.
“Char’s peers describe her as the heart of the operation,” said Amy Boston, who presented the award on behalf of WHLA during the 2025 WHLA Awards Luncheon on September 11 at Hotel Retlaw in Fond du Lac. “She leads with compassion, steadiness, and humility, and her dedication extends well beyond the front desk.” Although Char was unable to attend the luncheon, her award was proudly accepted on her behalf by Randy Kliment, Regional Director of Operations at Aileron Management, recognizing her exceptional contributions to guest service and her team’s success. “Spirit of Hospitality Award recipients are the heart of our industry,” said Bill Elliott, CAE, WHLA President & CEO. “Their dedication and passion elevate Wisconsin’s reputation as a warm and welcoming destination.” The Spirit of Hospitality Awards are part of WHLA’s Stars of the Industry program, honoring lodging employees who exemplify Wisconsin hospitality through leadership, service, and dedication.
