Celebrating Excellence: Dawn Daoust Honored with WHLA’s 2025 Spirit of Hospitality Award

​The Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association (WHLA) proudly recognizes Dawn Daoust, Executive Administrator at Gordon Lodge in Baileys Harbor, as one of the 2025 Spirit of Hospitality Award recipients.

Dawn has been a cornerstone of Gordon Lodge for over a decade, known for her kindness, steady leadership, and ability to create a welcoming and supportive environment for both guests and staff. Her dedication and positive approach make a lasting impact on her team and the overall guest experience.

“At Gordon Lodge, Dawn Daoust has served as Executive Assistant for more than 14 years. Known by many as the ‘Gordon Lodge mom,’ she is the person everyone turns to for support, solutions, and encouragement,” said Amy Boston, who presented the award on behalf of WHLA during the 2025 WHLA Awards Luncheon on September 11 at Hotel Retlaw in Fond du Lac. “Whether she is managing schedules, caring for seasonal visa employees, or helping staff navigate challenges, Dawn approaches every task with patience, positivity, and genuine care.”

As a Spirit of Hospitality Award recipient, Dawn was honored in front of industry peers for her mentorship, leadership, and lasting contributions to her property.

The Spirit of Hospitality Awards are part of WHLA’s Stars of the Industry program, which celebrates individuals and properties that define excellence in Wisconsin’s lodging community.
