Celebrating Excellence: Orlando Collins Honored with WHLA’s 2025 Spirit of Hospitality Award

​The Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association (WHLA) proudly recognizes Orlando Collins, Maintenance Technician at AC Hotel Madison Downtown, as one of the 2025 Spirit of Hospitality Award recipients.

Orlando is known for his reliability, quick problem-solving, and supportive teamwork, ensuring seamless experiences for both guests and colleagues. His dedication behind the scenes helps maintain the high standards of hospitality that define the AC Hotel.

“For more than seven and a half years, Orlando has been a cornerstone of the Maintenance Department at his property,” said Amy Boston, who presented the award on behalf of WHLA during the 2025 WHLA Awards Luncheon on September 11 at Hotel Retlaw in Fond du Lac. “His positive attitude and professionalism make him a true asset to his property and a shining example of hospitality.”

Orlando goes above and beyond to turn challenging situations into moments of genuine care — like assisting a guest during a serious plumbing issue, thoroughly addressing the problem, refreshing the room, and arranging a complimentary amenity to ensure a positive experience. He often works nights and weekends, covering shifts so teammates can take time off, and frequently serves as the department supervisor, demonstrating leadership and commitment.

The Spirit of Hospitality Awards are part of WHLA’s Stars of the Industry program, which celebrates individuals and properties that define excellence in Wisconsin’s lodging community.
