Honoring an Industry Leader: Daniel Schetter Inducted into the Wisconsin Lodging Hall of Fame9/30/2026 Daniel’s multi-decade career as a hotelier and executive has set a benchmark for operational excellence across Wisconsin. As General Manager of the CopperLeaf Boutique Hotel & Spa in Appleton and long-time leader of the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center in Oshkosh, Dan successfully guided flagship properties through major transformations.
His executive leadership has strengthened our entire industry. A Certified Hotel Administrator, Daniel served as Chairman of the Board for WHLA and Board Chair for the Oshkosh Convention & Visitors Bureau. In 2013, he was named WHLA Innkeeper of the Year, and in 2018, he achieved international recognition as the Best Western North American General Manager of the Year—one of only seven selected out of 2,700 peers. What makes Daniel’s legacy particularly meaningful is the way he has used his position in hospitality to make a difference beyond the industry itself. He hosted the first-ever Wisconsin Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force meeting outside of Madison, establishing a vital partnership between lodging and law enforcement, while championing essential local causes. As we welcome Daniel Schetter into the Wisconsin Lodging Hall of Fame, we celebrate not only his impressive career, but the people, organizations, and communities that have benefited from his leadership along the way.
