WHLA’s Elliott Tapped to Serve on AHLA Executive Committee
The Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association (WHLA) is proud to share that our president & CEO, Bill Elliott, CAE, has been appointed to the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s (AHLA) Executive Committee as part of AHLA’s 2026 leadership slate.
AHLA recently announced its 2026 Officers, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors, a distinguished group representing some of the most respected and influential leaders across the lodging industry. AHLA’s Officers, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors include leaders from all sectors of the lodging industry, including brands, owners, management companies, and branded properties.

This appointment underscores both Bill’s leadership within Wisconsin and WHLA’s growing voice at the national level.

Representation That Matters for Wisconsin

As a member of AHLA’s Executive Committee, Elliott will help guide the association’s national priorities during a pivotal time for the hospitality industry. With the U.S. entering what AHLA has described as a “mega-decade” of large-scale global events, strong leadership will be critical to showcasing the best of American hospitality, supporting more than two million hotel employees nationwide, and strengthening local communities.

Bill’s appointment ensures that Wisconsin’s lodging industry has a seat at the table as national policy, advocacy, workforce, and industry initiatives are shaped.
“Bill’s appointment to AHLA’s Executive Committee is a tremendous win for WHLA and for our members,” said Rory Madsen, WHLA Past Chair. “The WHLA Board is confident in Bill’s leadership and vision, and his involvement at the national level ensures Wisconsin’s perspectives, challenges, and opportunities are well represented as industry priorities are set. We are proud to see his expertise recognized and know this will further strengthen WHLA’s impact.”

A Win for WHLA Members

WHLA is proud of Elliott’s continued leadership and service on behalf of Wisconsin’s lodging industry. His appointment reflects the strength of WHLA’s advocacy, the guidance of its Board of Directors, and our ongoing commitment to advancing the lodging industry at both the state and national levels.
