Wisconsin Women in Lodging Gather for Connection, Confidence & Competition at Nine & Wine Retreat5/28/2025
The event offered the perfect blend of personal and professional connection in a relaxed, scenic setting. Attendees teed off for 9 holes of golf, enjoyed casual networking at the Clubhouse and Kaminski’s Chop House, and came together for a multi-course wine pairing dinner that celebrated camaraderie, leadership, and giving back.
During dinner, prizes and awards were presented in good fun:
WWIL Steering Committee Chair and Chula Vista Vice President Krissy Sigmund shared updates on WWIL programs and initiatives. The room filled with energy and generosity as attendees pledged a record-setting $2,505 in donations to support WWIL’s ongoing work, including the Moxie & Amplify Career Development Awards, Kari Zambon Memorial Student Scholarship, and the WWIL Mentorship Program. The retreat concluded with a morning breakfast session led by WHLA Vice President and WWIL Staff Liaison Monica Goeke, CAE. Titled “In Good Company: Communicating with Confidence and Clarity,” the session created space for members to reflect, share experiences, and explore communication strategies for leadership and growth. Whether on the course, at the table, or during discussion, the retreat affirmed what makes the Wisconsin Women in Lodging so impactful—a shared commitment to empowering, connecting, and elevating women in Wisconsin’s hotel and lodging industry. Mark your calendar! The next WWIL Retreat will take place September 25–26, 2025, at Lake Lawn Resort. WWIL membership is free and open to all WHLA members.
