Jay Schumerth, Hostmark Hospitality Group, recognized by WHLA as the 2022 Corporate Champion of the Year
Jay Schumerth is the Vice President of Operations at Hostmark Hospitality Group. In his role, Jay provides multi-property oversight of Hostmark Hospitality Group's diverse property portfolio, including the Delta Hotel Milwaukee Northwest in Wisconsin. An award winning hotelier, Jay was awarded Hostmark Hospitality Group’s corporate pinnacle award called the Chairman’s Award in 2020.
An active member of WHLA for the last five years, Jay currently serves as the Vice Chair of WHLA’s Board of Directors. Prior to this role, he served as treasurer of WHLA for 2 years during the most challenging time the industry and organization has ever seen. During his time with WHLA, Jay has served on numerous committees and is currently engaged with the Legislative Committee as well as the Room Task Force. His commitment to the association is obvious to many, as he can regularly be seen attending WHLA conferences and our annual Action Day in Madison.
Beyond WHLA, he is active in his local business community and the Wisconsin Department of Tourism’s Meetings & Events Committee. He previously served as the board chair for the Fox Cities Chamber and Visitors Bureau and Appleton Downtown Incorporated.

He continued, “He’s doing great things for Wisconsin’s lodging community, and we’re lucky to have him as a part of WHLA’s leadership team.”
For his contribution to our organization and consistent leadership, Jay received the 2022 Corporate Champion of the Year Award. The award was presented by 2021 Corporate Champion of the Year, Brandon McConnell, Arbor Lodging.
