The Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association (WHLA) has honored Dr. Lynea LaVoy with the 2023 Educator of the Year Award. ​The Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association (WHLA) has honored Brian Lee, APR, Principal and Owner of Revelation PR, Social Media and Advertising, with its Associate of the Year award for 2023. The award recognizes one professional each year who services the Wisconsin lodging industry in an exemplary manner. The award was presented during a dinner ceremony at the 2023 Wisconsin Lodging Conference on November 6 at the Holiday Inn Stevens Point Convention Center.

​WHLA honored Sara Abbott, Resort General Manager of the Metropolis Resort in Eau Claire, with its annual Innkeeper of the Year Award. The Innkeeper of the Year Award is a time-honored tradition that recognizes an outstanding individual who exemplifies the hospitality industry in our state. The award was presented during a dinner ceremony at the 2023 Wisconsin Lodging Conference on November 6 at the Holiday Inn Stevens Point Convention Center.

​​WHLA has honored hotelier Kristina McConnell from Aimbridge Hospitality with the Corporate Champion of the Year Award. This award recognizes a key management individual who owns or operates lodging properties in Wisconsin for their high level of achievements. The award was presented during dinner at the 2023 Wisconsin Lodging Conference & Trade Show on November 6 at the Holiday Inn Stevens Point Convention Center.

Attendees at the 2023 Wisconsin Lodging Conference & Trade Show gathered at the Holiday Inn Stevens Point for the Opening Reception and were treated to a surprise from a professional musician. Jordan Bain performed his original song “Ode to WHLA” live on-stage during the event.

The Wisconsin Women in Lodging (WWIL) introduced two new career development scholarships. The announcement was made by WWIL Chair Krissy Sigmund on November 7 during the Women in Lodging Breakfast at the 2023 Wisconsin Lodging Conference & Trade Show at the Holiday Inn Stevens Point.
