Oshkosh, Wis. - Apr. 12, 2023 - Scarlett Hotel Group (SHG) announced today that it has purchased the Best Western Premier Waterfront Hotel & Convention Center, located at 1 Main Street in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The property will begin a major renovation this fall, but will continue service for visitors and events. David Helgeson, a longtime Wisconsin resident, will remain as the general manager.

Long-time WHLA leader and Northwoods hotelier Buck Drossart recently retired after 35 years as the General Manager of The Pointe Hotel and Suites on Lake Minocqua. Drossart provided leadership on WHLA’s Board of Directors starting 2002, and served as Board Chair in 2013.  He was named WHLA’s Innkeeper of the Year in 2007 and 2014. He received the State Leadership Award in 2013 from American Hotel and Lodging Association.
