Rep. McGuire Tours The Stella Hotel with WHLA & AHLA

On Friday, March 1, Wisconsin State Representative Tip McGuire participated in a Heart of the House tour of The Stella Hotel & Ballroom alongside leaders from the Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association (WHLA) and the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA). This tour was part of AHLA's "Heart of the House" program, which aims to connect elected officials with local hoteliers and employees in their congressional district.

The tour was led by Michael Cardsted, the Stella’s General Manager and a WHLA Board Director. He was accompanied by WHLA President and CEO Bill Elliott, contract lobbyist Kathi Kilgore, and AHLA State Director of State and Local Government Affairs Sharon Sykes. The group toured the 80-room property and met with employees, providing Rep. McGuire with the opportunity to see firsthand how the landmark hotel continues to contribute to the community.

McGuire taking the time to tour the hotel and learn about the issues that impact lodging property owners, managers, and employees,” said Bill Elliott, WHLA President & CEO. He continued, “Connecting elected officials with our members is valuable to make sure that our industry’s voice is heard in Madison.”

The tour was a success and an excellent opportunity for McGuire to learn more about the importance of our industry and its contribution to the local and state economy.
