WHLA Announces Winner of the 2023 Website & Wisconsin Lodging Directory Cover Contest

Bay Shore Inn of Door County Received the Most Votes out of 15 Finalists

​The Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association (WHLA) has announced the winner of the 2023 Wisconsin Lodging Directory Cover Contest is Bay Shore Inn of Door County. Selected from a group of 15 finalists, Bay Shore Inn received the most out of 3,712 votes, and will be featured on the homepage of WisconsinLodging.org and as the cover image on 140,000 copies of the 2023 Wisconsin Lodging Directory.

A historic inn that has maintained its original character, Bay Shore Inn is located 2.5 miles from downtown Sturgeon Bay and is the perfect place to unwind from it all. Established in 1922, this family-friendly resort with breathtaking sunsets sits across the bay from Potawatomi State Park.

“We are excited to feature this great lakeside property on the cover of the 2023 Wisconsin Lodging Directory. As travelers hit the road, we look forward to them picking up one of the 140,000 copies of this year’s publication,” said WHLA President & CEO Bill Elliott, CAE. He continued, “Every year, people exploring the State of Wisconsin use our directory and our WisconsinLodging.org website to find a great place to stay. We encourage travelers to get out there and enjoy some true Wisconsin Hospitality. ”

The 2023 Cover Contest ran from August 1, 2022 – October 1, 2022. WHLA members and travelers were invited to vote for their favorite cover photo, displayed at WisconsinLodging.org/cover-contest. Participants were encouraged to share their cover on social media and with their guests. Bay Shore Inn won the 2023 contest with over 15.6% of the votes.

All WHLA members were encouraged to participate in the contest. In addition to Bay Shore Inn, voters could select their favorite cover from finalists including:
